How do I order a custom portrait painting of my pet?

Which photo should I choose?

Choose the sharpest photos, ideally with a background that is not too busy so that it does not distract from your pet. It is very important that you select a photo where your pet’s eyes are visible and sharp. If you are not sure about the photograph select 3 or 4 and we can discuss which would be best and why.

Can I select the background?

There are two options for backgrounds: 1- A studio background, which is a portrait of your pet on a simple coloured background. 2- A detailed background which is the background or some elements of the background in the photo you provide.

What if I want more than one pet to be painted?

More than one pet can be included in a portrait. I do not recommend more than 3 and there is a $50 fee per additional pet.

Do you paint things other than pets?

Yes! I also paint peoples’ personally significant images. I have a series of butterfly wings, pet paws in hands and have painted dolphins, flowers, homes and favourite views. I do not do human portraits.

How do I pay?

You can pay via interact email transfer or Paypal. 25% of the payment must be made on receipt of the blueprint photo, and the remaining 75% when you receive the photo of the finished painting. Once the full payment is made I can ship you the art work or you can pick it up. Prices do not include shipping costs.

How long does it take?

From the time I begin a portrait to the time it dries it will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks depending on size. The painting will take at least a week to dry as I use oil paints. A painting with a lot of white paint will take a bit longer to dry. Once completely dry I will communicate with you and you can pick up your work of art or it can be shipped to your home. I can also meet you somewhere at your convenience if you live in the Montreal area.

Can I pay in instalments?

An instalment plan can be discussed and created for your custom art work.

Do you ship?

I use Canada Post and can ship anywhere in Canada, the US, or Worldwide. Shipping costs are based on your location and the size of the art work you select.
